論文最後一章首先陳述研究所得結果的總結,檢視自己是否已經回答了在第一章所提出的研究問題,此時已不宜提出前文未曾出現的新概念或事實,只能從研究發現做總結.表達結論的句型可以在句首使用 in conclusion, in summarize， in sum, in closing， all in all, to conclude，to summarize，to sum up等連接副詞(conjunctive adverbs) 來引介出其後結論, conclusion常用的句型如下

1. In summary, jogging is a form of exercise that is relatively inexpensive, quite enjoyable and extremely safe.

結論為慢跑是種便宜,有趣又安全的運動

2. It should be observed that this conclusion should not be taken as the final word on the matter.

然而, 此結論必須審慎以對
3. It is apparent that either theory can account for the variance in the data.
我們可以肯定地下結論,這些理論都可以解釋相當多的變異性
4. Essentially, just four particular findings merit summarization.
研究發現中有4點值得作總結:

5. Initially, the empirical results shall be discussed and then a relationship with the theoretical foundation relating to these results will be provided.
